The Pre-Apprenticeship Sixth Form students were challenged to locate, identify and check certain vehicle parts.

Students had already gained knowledge when completing tasks in the workshop on vehicle parts which have already been removed, the challenge set was to locate / identify and explain these parts on the road going vehicles.

Students also went through the procedure for using the correct terminology when working around the vehicle, they understood why we use terms like O/S/F & O/S/R (Off Side Front & Off Side Rear, drivers side for a right hand drive UK car) when checking items such as lights, mirrors and body panels. These abbreviations are common place within the automotive industry and students will be required to use these terms on a daily basis.
