N.A. College who offer specialist training to enable unemployed people to apply for jobs at Nissan on Wearside, is celebrating its one hundredth wave of trainees!

Since N.A. College, based in Sunderland, began their course in Preparing to Work in the Engineering Manufacturing Industry, they’ve successfully placed more than fifteen hundred people in jobs with the Washington car manufacturer and thousands more into the supply chain.

Their six week course offers an introduction to manufacturing in hi-tech facilities directly opposite the Nissan plant, and provides hands-on experience with modern engineering tools, as well as classroom based training in the latest manufacturing practices.

At the end of their course, trainees are guaranteed a job interview with either Nissan or one of their suppliers and are supported for up to three months in their quest to find a job.

N.A. College’s tutors themselves have years of experience in engineering, and they’re able to provide learners with the knowledge and the skills to feel confident about entering the engineering manufacturing industry, even if they’ve never worked in it before.
