Level 2 in Business Administration

The Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration gives learners the opportunity to develop and demonstrate sector-related knowledge and competence.

This includes the principles and practices relating to business administrative roles and work-related knowledge such as;

  • organisational structure and environment
  • the use of research in business, equality and diversity and the legal context of business
  • communicating verbally and in writing
  • preparing business documents
  • organising and supporting meetings and events and managing information and diary systems

Assessment will be completed using a range of methods such as;

  • workplace observations
  • assignments
  • professional discussions
  • witness testimonies

BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration

The Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration qualification is for learners who work in, or who want to work in a business administration role. The qualification will give learners the opportunity to build on their knowledge of organisation processes such as business innovation, financial management and marketing.

Learners will demonstrate a range of technical skills and behaviours that supports competence in a business administrative role. These skills include developing and managing administrative systems, processes and staff. For example;

  • using a range of internal and external communication methods and the systems that support them
  • organising diaries, meetings and travel
  • managing resources and facilities
  • managing administrative processes and systems
  • supervising staff

Assessment will be completed using a range of methods such as;

  • work place observations
  • assignments
  • professional discussions
  • witness testimonies

Level 4 Diploma in Business Administration

The Level 4 Business Administration qualification gives learners the opportunity to develop the specific technical knowledge and competence of business administrative roles. This includes the knowledge related to business administration systems, communicating in a business, managing information and knowledge and project management and managing self-development.

Learners will develop wider business-related knowledge including;

  • human resource management
  • marketing
  • stakeholder engagement and management
  • operational planning and customer service management

The framework for the level 4 business administration qualification includes;

  • NVQ level 4 Diploma in Business Administration (competence)
  • FdA Business & Management (knowledge)
  • Employment rights and responsibilities
  • PLTS
  • Functional Skills

Assessment will be completed using a range of methods such as;

  • work place observations
  • assignments
  • professional discussions
  • witness testimonies
